Crazy Big Swim

It was a Saturday afternoon when I got the call. Our agency was jamming with work and the owner had just landed a potential new client. Knowing that I was more than capable of pulling the double duty of art direction and copywriting he begged me to jump on this project. The catch, he soon explained was that they needed to see the concept by Tuesday. I hung up the phone, hopped onto the computer and took a deep dive into the world of swimmers.

By Monday morning I had landed on a crazy big idea. I had my ace-up-my-sleeve design partner refine my toddler level sketches and viola….we had a campaign. Turns out that “fear of failure” can be an awfully good motivator.

Once the campaign was sold through I placed the project in the good hands of a talented art director and she refined the logo, located an illustrator and brought my concept to life.

Rather than just show the final ads, I think it will be fun to show you a bit of the process.
